Passing Wisconsin Home Inspections with Flying Colors

Are you buying or selling a home? Don't let the home inspections process be overwhelming or intimidating.  There are a few simple things you can do to help our home inspectors process your home quickly and efficiently. We are based in Minnesota, but also do home inspections in Wisconsin. So, no matter where you're moving to or from, this advice will apply. In this blog, we're going to cover some of the easiest things you can do to prepare for your home inspection.

Address Issues Upfront
If there are any issues with the home that you know of, be sure to discuss them with your inspector. We have completed many home inspections, so not much is going to surprise us. It's best to be upfront and honest. It's very possible that we'll find things in the home that you are unaware of, and that's ok. Just get everything you do know of out of the way first.

Clean Your Home
Before your home inspector is set to arrive, be courteous and clean up a bit. Your home doesn't have to be sparkling, but make it easy for our home inspectors to do their job. Remove clothes from your washer and dryer, clear space in the basement near the electrical box and make the attic easily accessible. When you have home inspections completed, you'll want it to go as smoothly as possible.

Be at the Home Inspections
One of the simplest things you can do, is be present at the home inspections. This will give our inspectors a direct line of communication with you. They will be able to ask questions and get the information they need from you. No one knows your house better than you. Be available to go through your home with them. An inspection should not take up too much of your time.
